Bulletins
What is a TSB?
A Technical Service Bulletin, or TSB, is an official repair brought out by an Automaker when a common problem or failure arises for a line of vehicles, or even a specific part. Typically, not related to safety concerns, TSBs are more focused on troubleshooting, such as a faulty switch or a tire rubbing the inner liner. Because of this they are usually kept "In House," and generally reserved for the automakers repair centers, though this doesn't stop them from being released to the public. These types of repairs are typically not covered by the Automaker and is instead covered by the consumer.
What is a Recall?
A Recall, or Recall Bulletin, is an official repair brought out by an Automaker when a major problem can result in serious life or death. Unlike TSBs, when an automaker announces a Recall, they are legally required to notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA, and the affected owners of the vehicles. Typically, these types of recalls are repaired on behalf of the Automaker due to loss of life being a result of these malfunctions.
